UAV Ground Control Station
UAV GROUND CONTROL STATION
AU’s UAV Ground Control Station (GCS) is a single, lightweight computer control station for easy and portable handling.
Features include:
- Multiple vehicle control
- Cross-platform UAV control: aerial, ground and submersible types for increased interoperability
- Live video display, with ground stabilizing and scenery tracking features
- Moving map display shows position and heading, both for UAV and sensor. Also displays GCS position and distance between UAV and GCS
- Digital Elevation Model (DEM) support for topographic information; shows height AGL at waypoints, and can do collision estimates
- Artificial horizon, with elevation, heading, speed, and controller commands
- Tracking range dependent on radio equipment, the software has no tracking limitation
- TCP/IP communication to radio equipment
OPERATION
- UAVs can be flown by point-and-click, by joystick, or by predefined routes
- Sensors are controlled either by pointing with the mouse or joystick on the live video or by predefining the target
- Supports complex emergency routes
- Engineering mode for setup and tuning
- Can be used with software in the loop (SIL) or hardware in the loop (HIL) simulator for testing and training
DATA
- Supports logging of both telemetric data and video
- Supports exporting of selected telemetric data and video to other equipment (using a separate LAN card for protection)
- Can import/export routes to external equipment like Battle Management and Command & Control systems. Already integrated into the Maria BMS and the BMS Flex BMS systems
Designed for future implementation of STANAG-4586
The Ground Control Station software is fully developed and programmed by AU, with no other company holding any IPR of any part of the software, which makes the system cost effective when integrating new or other sensors, as well as integration of the Ground Control Station or the UAS system into any Command and Control or Battle Management System.
